Clear the pool!

Try to get him to puppy socialization as soon as his shots are done. It really helped with Chester the Wonder Corgi. Oh, and nip the biting as soon as possible. Bitter apple worked for us with furniture. When it came to me, we did, "Ow!" training. I let him know as a human or a dog would -- yes, I would even yip and whine sometimes! -- that it hurt (even when it didn't), and after a few times, he would come up and kiss me where he had nipped me! Then he started doing that with his toys, biting then kissing them. Funny little fart. Still does that.

Corgis are smart, stubborn, and tough to train. Then just when you think you have them trained, they turn 2, and test you again. We had to do time-outs then. Minor ones -- ten minutes max. Otherwise, he would fall asleep, and forget why he was there. They are so effective, I only remember doing them twice at that stage. That said, we still do time-outs sometimes and Chester is 11! Usually fairly smooth sailing after 3. Some healthy socialization and obedience will go a long way when he's older.

Sorry if all the Corgi advice is annoying. Let me know if you'd like me to shut up.
